The Scapegoat is an intimate, 30-seat cocktail bar nestled in Miami's South of Fifth neighborhood—a cozy hideaway that bridges the gap between upscale craft and unpretentious warmth. Originally opened in 2018 by Ariete Hospitality Group, the bar occupies a space once home to The Room, a beloved local beer and wine bar. Today, The Scapegoat honors that legacy of neighborhood hospitality while charting its own course as a dedicated cocktail lounge. Led and operated by internationally acclaimed bartender Tom Lasher-Walker, a veteran of the global bar scene with two decades of expertise. A winner of the 2014 Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition, Lasher-Walker has held positions at London's The American Bar, New York's Attaboy, Miami's Jaguar Sun, and Sunny's—bringing that wealth of experience to his first ownership role at The Scapegoat.
